Château de Ferrand awarded at the 2026 Trophées de l’Oenotourisme

On May 6, 2026, in Carpentras, Château de Ferrand Grand Cru Classé was awarded the prestigious “Offre Exceptionnelle” distinction in the Art, Culture & Heritage category at the 2026 Wine Tourism Trophies organized by Terre de Vins magazine.
Each year, this national competition recognizes wine estates that create innovative, immersive, and meaningful experiences for visitors. For its eighth edition, eleven French wine estates were honoured for their outstanding contributions to wine tourism.
Accepted by Pauline Bich Chandon-Moët, this Award of Excellence celebrates the long-standing commitment of the BICH family to promoting art and culture. It recognizes the many wine tourism and artistic initiatives developed at Château de Ferrand alongside the estate’s team, including the BIC Art at Ferrand collection and the visitor experiences inspired by it, as well as the estate’s partnerships with the Académie de l’Opéra National de Bordeaux and La Source Garouste.
This distinction acknowledges Château de Ferrand’s dedication to redefining wine tourism beyond the simple discovery of wine, creating an ongoing dialogue between wine, heritage, culture, art, and sensory experience.
Art at the Heart of the Experience
A pioneer of luxury wine tourism in Bordeaux, Château de Ferrand Grand Cru Classé is renowned for the quality of its hospitality. Throughout the year, the estate welcomes private guests and wine professionals from around the world, offering unique experiences centered around wine.
Today, Château de Ferrand is much more than a wine estate: it is a place where the art of winemaking, the art of hospitality, and an art collection come together.
Since 2021, a new artistic dimension has enriched the visitor experience through “BIC Art at Ferrand,” an initiative showcasing the family’s collection of works by internationally renowned artists inspired by BIC products, particularly the iconic BIC® ballpoint pen.
Around forty works from the family collection are displayed throughout the château. Acting as a visual thread, they blend seamlessly into the estate’s décor and contribute to its distinctive atmosphere.
Guests can discover the collection through a range of experiences available by reservation, whether during a stay in one of the château’s three guest rooms, a “4 Colours” lunch or dinner at the Private Table, or an Art & Wine Tour.

A Commitment to Culture
Through BIC Art at Ferrand, the family has therefore established a deep, sincere commitment to culture and art. As part of this commitment, Château de Ferrand has also chosen to promote artistic creation via numerous different partnerships.
Spearheaded by Pauline Chandon-Moët, the property has been supporting the Academy of the Opéra National de Bordeaux since 2023. As part of this partnership, a unique recital is given at Château de Ferrand every summer by artists from the academy. This is a shared musical moment in a place that unites art, passion and talent.
In parallel, Château de Ferrand launched a partnership in 2024 with La Source Garouste-Iturria, the Basque branch of La Source Garouste association. Works created using BIC® pens during workshops organized by La Source Garouste-Iturria in 2024 and 2025 were exhibited at the château throughout the summer, freely accessible to visitors.
Additional cultural events further enrich the estate’s artistic programme, including “L’Humble BIC,” an exhibition presented in partnership with the Musée de la Création Franche in Bègles, which was held in the château’s cellars from April to September 2023.
A Wine Tourism Driven by Emotion and Storytelling

At Château de Ferrand, every experience is designed with a personalised approach. “This award is a powerful opportunity for us to share wine culture in a different way, through experiences that combine expertise and emotion” explains Eliott Brodin, Hospitality Manager.
Each visit invites guests to discover the history of the estate, the story of the owning family, its wines, the château’s architecture, and the artistic universe that animates the property.
This philosophy has helped establish Château de Ferrand as a must-visit destination for wine lovers, culture enthusiasts, and travellers seeking authentic experiences.
This award also represents a tremendous recognition of the daily work carried out by the Château de Ferrand team and encourages the estate to continue developing ever more enriching wine tourism and cultural experiences for a wide range of visitors—whether passionate about fine wines, fascinated by history, or eager to explore new cultural perspectives.
These initiatives invite guests to discover the Bordeaux vineyard through a fresh lens and enjoy a truly immersive experience where every space tells a story. They also contribute to strengthening the estate’s appeal while supporting the cultural influence of Saint-Émilion.
We send our sincere thanks to Terre de Vins, the members of the jury, and all our visitors who, year after year, help bring this human and cultural adventure to life.
