A bold new label for the first certified-organic vintage
To be revealed on the day of the 2024 release, Château de Ferrand Grand Cru Classé showcases a bold new label for its 2024 vintage. The new label expresses a singular visual identity, one that faithfully communicates the estate’s history, values, and vision. An invitation to discover Château de Ferrand, a place where wine, art collection and the famous French art de vivre meet.
50 years ago, Baron Marcel Bich – founder of the eponymous company – acquired Château de Ferrand, a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé. Today, the Bich family opens a new chapter with the unveiling of an artfully designed label for the 2024 vintage.
Hand-illustrated using a BIC® ballpoint pen, this new label is a unique way to honor the past while writing the future. It also echoes the family art collection presented at the heart of Château de Ferrand Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé.
The choice of a hand-drawn picture evokes the authenticity behind the label, embodying the artisanal philosophy at the heart of every bottle produced at Château de Ferrand. Composed of numerous BIC® ballpoint pen strokes, the illustration is a reminder that every step of production, from vine to bottle, is carried out with careand precision.
On the label, nature is a recurring theme, harmoniously framing the property on all sides. This ubiquity reflects the balance between the property and the organic world, as well as its commitment to preserving it : an important aspect for this first certified organic vintage.
The blue tone chosen for the label represents a new chromatic signature. This distinctive, emblematic hue is far from insignificant: it is a nod to the famous BIC® tip and creates an authentic link between the château and the history of its owners.
The blue tone chosen for the label serves as a chromatic signature. Rarely seen on wine labels, the distinctive and emblematic hue sets the estate apart. Far from being arbitrary, the choice of blue is reminiscent of the ink from a BIC® ballpoint pen and creates an authentic link between the estate’s history and the Bich family.
