An expression of Ferrand’s charm

Beautifully intense ripe fruit shines through in its colour, then toasted and black fruit notes predominate on the palate.
It is dense in the attack, with well-integrated tannins and an elegant finish.

The winter was mild and rather dry. The spring was cool and rainy, particularly at the beginning of the growth cycle. After some periods of heavy rain in May and June, dryer and milder weather than normal then set in during June and July.
These temperatures and cool conditions lingered in September and October, with wide temperature variation between day and night, along with significant water stress during these last two months.

The weather conditions at the end of the season and very meticulous vineyard monitoring produced healthy, beautifully ripe grapes.
Optical sorting was introduced at Ferrand, allowing a more rigorous, even selection of grapes.
2008 is a true classic with wonderful ageing potential.
